Amazon isn’t just for book smarts anymore. Ok, that’s been the case for a while. Ashe Mischief has been telling me about the deals she could find on Amazon, and she’s right. I do love/hate relationship with American Apparel, as many of us do… they do make great basics, and my leggings of two years are about to disintegrate, I’ve been looking around for leggings and none I like as much as the ones from AA. However, the last time I was in the shop, (AA in Europe, so over priced) for Rocky’s birthday I spent €75 on two tee shirts and two pairs of undies. He loves them, so it’s worth it, but ouch.
Over the weekend, I happened upon a solution to both Rocky’s tee shirt problem and my holey leggings. Amazon has a wide selection of American Apparel clothing. Sure it’s not the latest in their collections, but still, basics at a price competitive to some other fast fashion retailers who sell lower quality items, and all pieces that I would be more than happy to have in my summer wardrobe. Some pieces have flexible prices, like a pair of red leggings costs $6 instead of $11.28 which is still more than half of the $26 you would spend buying direct from AA.
- American Apparel Fine Jersey Racerback Tank Dress $11.99
- American Apparel Tri-Blend Racerback Tank Shirt $7.99
- American Apparel RSA8335 Cotton Spandex Jersey Cycle Short $14.99
- American Apparel Women’s Retro Interlock Running Short $7.99
- American Apparel Cotton Spandex Jersey Short Sleeve T-Shirt Leotard $8.99
- American Apparel Women’s Fine Jersey Raw Edge Sleeveless T-Shirt Dress $9.99
- American Apparel 8328 Cotton Spandex Jersey Legging $11.28
- American Apparel Tri-Blend Light Weight Raglan Pullover $14.98
- American Apparel Nylon Pack Cloth Gym Bag $11.99
Just a word of caution, which I realized when I was stocking up, Amazon hosts a variety of sellers so be careful that you are buying from as few sellers as possible to cut down on the shipping costs. Still, with 3-5 day shipping it’s still relatively cheap at just under $6 (in the US) but if you buy from 5 sellers (which I almost did) you’re not really saving a whole lot.
Other than that, I’m really excited to get my new leggings!
Oh and for those of you who don’t live stateside… AA also sells on Amazon UK.

I’ve found that you can get even better deals on ebay.
Never buying basics from their online store again. haha.

Those are some really excellent deals! AA does have a habit of being particularly spendy on certain pieces, too. It amazes me how anyone can ever pay full retail on something- all you need is some good sleuthing to find things at a better bargain price.

❤ liz…oh i’ve heard about the ebay deals, maybe i should make a post about that next week…

❤ ashe… i have always had a problem with paying full price… but then again, some of the AA pieces, i’m really coveting…
Thank you so much for sharing. I never knew Amazon UK sold American Apparel. Buying direct from AA in the UK is soooooooo expensive!!

I *always* check Amazon when I find a pair of shoes I like. They often have the same thing for less-it’s better than ebay most of the time.

I’m not sure how safe it is for me to have this information.
nice! but i bet that in canada by the time you add shipping and duties that it’s not as great a savings. it’s too bad, i really dig the long stripe tank dress.
