When I grow up…

This past Sunday, I was reading the New York Times and napping, it dawned on me, I want to be like Cynthia Rowley. She’s amazing. She has a great career, a beautiful husband, children who giggle, a lovely home in the coolest city on earth, and a trampoline in the back yard. It’s her favorite thing to do, jumping, she can get as high as 3 stories.

“We do live in a neighborhood where you have to be kind of quiet,” she said. “So we’re out there before school at 8 in the morning, and I’m always saying, ‘Shhh.’ I’m sure someone’s going to complain about the giggling.”

Hmm. I’ve been thinking a lot about the kind of life I want, and the kind of life I have. It’s been a long journey trying to figure out what my passions are, and partially why I’m writing this blog. I’ve been lucky enough to reach my thirties, hopeful, happy and playful, my aspiration at the end of the day, is to live a wonderful life. So that’s why it was so heartwarming to read about Ms. Rowley and her trampoline.

  3. That is the best photo of her! I really love her style too. Did you ever catch photos of her wedding? I think it was in In Style a couple years ago and she talks about how she did everything backwards - they had kids first, then got married. It looked so laid back and fun. Of course she looked beautiful in her own designed dress. :)

    zakman~ that’s soo nice that you find serenity on my blog. you know to tell the truth, like all of us, i have my demons, but i am more at peace now than at any previous point in my life, but it’s been a long journey… so hang in there, if it’s something you really want, you’ll get it!

    c&c! have you tried to do a cartwheel lately? oh dear… i did a few weeks ago, and my friends fell over laughing. i guess it wasn’t that great.

  9. how fun. i do adore trampolines…they are so freeing and delightful…coincidentally/funny i just found a fantastic vintage cynthia rowley top this weekend. isn’t it great when you read about another woman’s life that is so inspiring, that there are people that are balencing things, makign it work, enjoying life, keeping it real, the important stuff….aren’t we all looking to find that inner balence that lets us be the happiest version of ‘us’….i think that means pinpointing what you really love in life and being true to that.
