Sweet Inspiration

Finnish Buttons

Montmarte’s Sketchbook posted a photograph by Anni Leppälä, I was instantly taken by the beauty and simplicity of the photograph. I love the artist’s statement about photography:
I want to approach the momentariness of living through constancy. The paradox is that when you try to conserve or protect a moment by stopping it, you inevitably lose it at the same time. I reach for the kind of experience where balance and its fragility, delicacy, are present.
Besides, what style hag doesn’t have a secret or not-so-secret fascination with buttons? I love them, sometimes I even want to eat them, the whole act buttoning and unbuttoning has a very sensual delicious connotation to it. Oh dear, I think it’s getting close to lunch time…
So I’ll leave you with this a link to more wonderful Finnish photographers… How do the Scandinavians acquire all the genetic beauty AND creativity? I don’t know, but I’m certainly envious.
