Truly, I do love the playful use of head wear on the runways and on the streets these days. Whether or not I like the turban doesn’t seem to matter because there are so many other options to be inspired by. Sometimes when two things arrive into consciousness simultaneously, things seemingly unrelated, it inspires a whole new train of inspiration. For instance, every day on my way to work, I pass by the Twins Armoire Boutique, owned by the Twins, a fixture in San Francisco’s society… I’ve never actually been in the boutique itself, but the window dressing certainly one of a kind. Right now, there are tons of giant flower hats in the windows, which I wasn’t sure how to place them until the Dior Couture Fall ‘07 showed Irina looking very much like an adult Thumbelina. I love the sense of whimsy and fairy tale eccentricity… knowing full well that these giant flower hats can be worn by mere mortals. It’s comforting… and liberating.

Hahah, Irina looks so cute here, almost like a ferry
I would so totally wear one big flower [bucket even] on my head!!! Hm, where could I get a huge, cheap colored plastic flower? Is it hard to make at home? Hm…you got me thinking…
