The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly NYC
I have been coveting thier cigarette pants for a while, and Jayne owns a pair in lilac… they do look really great on her, much better than what I anticipated from the online pics (which are great, but I’m cynical). For fall… they have acid wash and pinstripe… ooh I bet they are lovely.
Minnie Wilde, San Francisco
This boutique is owned and operated by local designers Terri Olson and Ann D’Apice. Their clothes are playful and really well-made. Every stylish woman in SF seems to be familiar with this shop!
Painted Bird, San Francisco
This buy/sell/trade shop is probably one of the best places to find cool and inexpensive clothing. I know from experience that it’s really difficult to stop by without picking something up.
i heart, NYC
I am trusting that this is the shop to go to in New York City… from all the press, and the extensive designer list was full of gems… like British designer, Emma Cook. I clicked on every single link on the site. Next time I go to New York, I’m so going.
Re-Mix Vintage Shoes, Los Angeles
I thought this was just an online shop… apparently I was underestimating this Los Angeles based shoe maker. Holy moly… Jayne tells me that the boutique is full of every color, of vintage remake shoe you can imagine. I have heard of these shoes before, my neighbor Patti has a couple of pairs, and the ones pictured above, are really well made and comfy. Jayne’s actually wearing her pair in the photo above.

I’ve been reading your blog for a few weeks now and I LOVE it! I am planning on moving from Wisconsin and SF is one of my choises. I was wondering if you could let me know how it is there? Is it a good place to raise a family (I have two little ones)?
i second the notion on “i heart” in NYC’s nolita neighborhood. it is/was, HANDS DOWN, my absolute favorite boutique in NYC. if i could replicate it here somehow, i would.
I was just at Painted Bird on Wednesday. Sold some stuff…bought some stuff! *big smile* I could go nuts in that place! Even their guy stuff is cool!
hey pretty girl… leaving wisconsin, eh? i’m sure they will miss you… well, san francisco is not the most popular family city, we have less children than any other metropolitan area… check out craigslist.org to find everything you need in san francisco. and when i say everything… i mean EVERYTHING….
