Coveted Interviews

The Land of Os Os

Os Os is a design duo Carly Franks and Bethany Santos (formerly some velvet morning). The collections is made of fun clothes made from vintage and new fabrics from unexpected sources. Here we have a quick little chat about Os Os…

The Coveted: Where do you live and work?
Os Os: The two of us live and work and love Philadelphia.

TC: How do you hunt for vintage fabrics?
Os Os:We sometimes pull down old curtains, tablecloths and rip apart pillowcases that we have scattered around our homes. We also have a few secret thrift stores where we can usually find some great vintage pieces and build our small one of a kind collections around them.

TC: What are you obsessing on these days?
Os Os: Carly: capes, mustard colored anything, talkin’ bout mama by the intruders, and fanciness in general.
Bethany: chuck berry, lavender stuff, more stuff, ponchos, bad kids, lists and by the way i like hot dogs too.

  1. Vintage what, what vintage - that caught my eye right away. :D

  2. Oh, I love those two shots at the end. Interesting details (with the crooked neckline in the back). Going to go check out their myspace now…

  3. Ooh, thanks for the tip. I love all the little vintage details, like the embroidered (cross stitch?) neckline . . . gorgeous.

  4. Their quirky responses really reflect in their clothes. It’s nice to see personality from the designers, because then you know the clothes have a life and story too.
