Today’s Attire : Back on track

I’ve been having issues. Family is going all kinds of places, facing end of life issues, on one side and dealing with the Southern California wildfire aftermath… what to do for the upcoming holidays. My boyfriend moved into my apartment, and that going so well. I never thought I’d let anyone into my life like this and it’s wonderful. My cats are happy too.

Also, I’ve been talking a bit about two things that have been weighing on my head in regards to fashion, my finances and my weight. How much should I spend on clothing? How conscious should I be? At what level should I be comfortable with my body? I’ve gained some weight in the last 4 months due to stress and lack of focus on my routine. It’s time for me to be more careful about these elements of my life… it’s time to get back on track.

Today I’m wearing basically what’s still clean in my closet, it’s the fashion equivalent to casserole.. oh dear.

  1. You look adorable and I love your statement: “fashion equivalent to casserole”.
Sorry to read about your family, but very excited for your romance (and, very good to hear that the kitties are happy with it all!)!
This month’s holidays have me freakin out - usually do to a degree, but add turning 50 to the mix and YIKES!!
    Take care

  2. Good for you (though sorry about your family in California)! I recently felt like I’d just fallen out of a slump as well, and it was pretty great. I celebrated with cute clothes as well.

  10. I love the cardigan, is it beading and embroidery or a print? either way I wish it was clean and hanging in my wardrobe.

  14. Jennine, it’s lovely to see you back and smiling and looking happy. And while I’m sorry to hear about family issues and (eep!) dealing with the wildfires, I am thrilled to hear about your boy and cats and all being happy. Because that? That kind of good home life, even with the drama, can make everything ok.

And you look lovely, even if this is fashion casserole.

  15. A few things to remember:

-Food is pleasure, don’t deny yourself the good things.

-It’s about health, not weight. If you can’t fit into a size 0, not so bad. If you can’t walk a block or up a flight of stairs without wheezing, not so good. If however, you feel yourself becoming more and more unhappy, it’s probably time to put away the chocolate ( just for a little bit)

-You should spend as much as you can afford, as long as you have some savings plan in place to offset the spending.

-Good luck with everythung : )
