Every year my work does this fancy holiday party. It’s one of the few times a year I can wear a cocktail dress and people will be happy to see it! So naturally, I’m excited about the prospect, and was thinking of wearing a vintage 80’s prom dress, but I couldn’t find one that really spoke to me. So I found this dress at Loehman’s, and it suprisingly looks really amazing on, but I will certainly need to accessorize it. Hmmmm…. any ideas? This is what I like about dressing up, finding a foundation item and build an outfit out of it. Ahh… the sound of wheels turning in my head!
I see… perhaps a pair of opaque black tights, and a cocktail hat? Maybe a black one with a sparkly bit of broach or sequins to tie in to the sparkly of the dress? Dark back-seamed stockings would be sexy, too.
love your dress! it’s an amazing color (:
since it’s kinda a blue-gold combi, why not try a gold belt (to bring out the color) and electric blue clutch?
there are just so many ways you can wear this! have fun (:

I’m thinking strappy gold heels plus lots of long, layered necklaces would bump up the glam of the dress even more.
Very pretty! I think my big silver Diana ring is the accessory you need
But also black tights/black shoes would be very of-the-moment.
Ah! Love the dress!
That is beautiful! I agree with Wendy, black tights and black shoes would be perfect!
nice nice. chunky belt, and some crazy color leg warmers would lookk lovely. be cool if you put up a flickr collection or link, if you request readers/friends (count me in) to send you holiday party/event pictures! oh great
oooh, i’m torn between chunky belt and jewels!
tights are probably a must, being as it’s usually freezing…
so wendy… what is the diana ring???
Opaque, matte tights in yellow or cobalt.
you know, i tried on the dress with purple tights, and grey booties, and i really liked it… perhpaps cobalt would be excellent too!
I need to take a trip to Loheman’s with you! The few times I’ve gone I’ve never found anything. This dress is so cute!
Ohh, all you need are those gold plus crochet necklaces from a few posts down. Amazing.
