Shoe D’Jour : Spats

by jennine on January 29, 2008

Today’s shoe d’jour isn’t really a shoe… yess… indeed, they are spats, reversible spats. You can wear them with any shoe transforming a normal black pump into something extraordinary. When I first saw them, I really wanted them a lot. I called, and they cost like $200 or something, and I said, no way… but now they are marked down to $60 on Revolve Clothing, so now… this is another story… hmmm… how else can I triple my shoe collection?

Holy moley! You could so totally make those for like $10 or less. It’s crazy and irritating to see little accesories like this so insanely over priced- even when they’re on sale. Supply and demand, I guess. Seems just selfish to me, though. Even crafty etsy.com shop owners are ripping off the public by acting like their $1.99 beads and fishing line are precious and valuable jewels. Something that costs a couple bucks and takes under 20 minutes to make shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg with shipping charges that turn you into an amputee. *sigh* What a world we live in.

Oh, and also- I really adore your website/blog. You do an amazing job on it, and I have mass ammounts of respect for you. I may have just stumbled upon it today out of luck, but I’m sure visiting will become a daily ritual. Yeah, you are totally rad.

Jennine, if I ever figure out how to make spats like those glorious lace and vintage ones, I’ll mail you a pair. Don’t get so spendy on these!
