I am so ready to shed my pasty winter pallor for the luminous, lit-from-within skin of my dreams.
Glow = Brightness
Synonyms: afterglow, bloom, blossom, blush, brilliance, burning, effulgence, flush, glare, gleam, glimmer, glitter, gusto, heat, incandescence, intensity, lambency, light, luminosity, passion, phosphorescence, radiance, ray, splendor, vividness, warmth
Antonyms: dullness, paleness, wanness
Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate
Radiance starts with hydrated, supple skin. All the luminizer in the world won’t disguise parched, rough skin.
Try a thirst-quenching moisturizer that plumps your skin. Arcona White Magic Ice sinks right into your skin and is formulated with hyaluronic acid and antioxidants. Plus, it’s paraben-free and has a magical, fairytale name. This hydrating gel leaves skin taut and dewy.
Need a quick fix? Boost skin’s vibrancy throughout the day with a dewifying hydrosol like Dermalogica Antioxidant HydraMist. I dutifully spritz my co-workers at least twice a day.
Go Nude
Luminous skin is the perfect backdrop for spare makeup. The clean, bare-faced look ruled many New York and London fashion shows and is a key spring trend. The subtle, no-makeup look has always been my holy grail- trend or not. While matte faces and lips are all the rage, I prefer a dewier finish because it’s youthful and sexy. Also, matte powders and lipsticks emphasize my dry skin.
For sheer coverage and a touch of luminosity, try Stila Illuminating Moisturizer, SPF 15. For less shine, Want a less shiny, more soft-focus look? Blot with rice paper or loose powder.

“NUDE” is so in! make-up, dress, shoes, you name it!
Drink lots of water everyday and see your skin GLOW!
I usually drink 3 bottles of 1.5 liter FIJI per day : )
holy moly… i wish i could drink more water… everyone’s on my back about that.
mostly i drink coffee and green tea. at times fizzy water is nice.
but i do love nice nude makeup…
I may be in the minority, but I’m over nude. I WANT COLOR!!!
I like nude with a little hint of color. Also not a huge fan of nude lips- because they’re hard to pull off without looking like a cadaver. Yes, colorful lips that work with your skintone are cheerier.
I love the nude look and I’ve constantly been wearing it on my lips for the past two weeks or so. Not that pasty kind of shade, though, but more of a light pink natural colour.
By the way, it has been proven that the amount of water you drink doesn’t actually have to do anything with the way your skin looks. Any more than the recommended 1.5 liters won’t really do much, so don’t worry about drinking water too much.
