Sunday Pixel Brunch : Whitest Boy Alive

by jennine on February 24, 2008

There is a super big storm out this morning… the wind is rattling the windows, and I don’t want to get dressed much less leave the apartment. It’s the perfect kind of morning for listening to uplifting indie music like Berlin based band, Whitest Boy Alive.

Aside from the quirky name, which sounds to be a bit of a challenge, if you know some pretty white boys… I really like like the melodic soft sounds kind of like late 80’s The Cure, but not mopey at all. The videos are really nice to watch too. Particularly if you like hand-drawn animation.

I also love the lead singer’s previous band Kings of Convenience… you’d like em too me thinks!

my love for you. February 24, 2008 at 4:17 pm

love this video. i used to like kings of convenience, but they remind me so much of fall in san fran, that they make me a bit sad now. :( didn’t know they had a new band. just bought the album, thank you!

wow! pretty cool.

the noiselab people iknew over at Mexico City always presented the best line-ups +CD recon.s back when I lived there for a bit of time. Im enjoying all the exposure you provide to the Berlin- music scene.

I don’t think they broke up, it’s apparently a side project of Erlend’s, according to wikipedia.

Fear not.
