My official retort to minimalism is, “Less is a bore.”
Not that I don’t like simplicity, I do… it just has a place. Like everything else, good visual style relies on variety. That’s why I love Iosselliani, who I just now came across at Aloha Rag. One of the issues surrounding jewelry is that I can never decide on what I should be wearing… I love modernist jewelry, but I don’t know much about it, and I also love heirloom pieces. Iosslliani makes something new out of the old, and that’s just lovely.
If spending four digits on bling is out of your budget at the moment, the shop on the site has some lovely pieces in silver.

“less is a bore”
you are amazing.
you need to wiki that shit as being the first to coin that phrase.
i wish i could… but i didn’t say it first…. some designer said it, and i forgot who exactly, woops.
Robert Venturi - …is also known for coining the maxim “Less is a bore” as antidote to Mies van der Rohe’s famous modernist dictum “Less is more”.
yes… this is what I was half-remembering…
“Less is a bore” - I love it.
These are gorgeous!
I could totally see you, WendyB, embracing the “Less is a bore” mentality.
I agree with this for rings but not necklaces. Even my wedding ring set is three rings.
