Just when you start to wonder if LA style is really all about Nicole Ritchie and what’s her name… Mischa Barton, something like Welcome Hunters pops up on the radar. From the many times I’ve wishfully gazed upon the pages of Creatures of Comfort, Welcome Hunters adds to my joy that I’ll always have a reason to go to LA (thanks Mom!).
Based in Los Angeles’ Chinatown, they carry an inspiring list of emerging designers like Marjan Pejoski, Martin Lamothe, and Best Behavior. Welcome Hunters well-edited selection also works with the climate in SoCal… one that often requires easy to wear cotton jersey or silk. They managed to find a wealth of artful pieces without coming off as overly casual or insanely fussy. It leaves no excuse to dress as artfully as possible.
First row all by Marjan Pejoski:
Second Row: KTZ, Martin Lamothe, Best Behavior (these are culottes!!)

really nice and trashy!
I MUST have that first dress!! I will die if it doesn’t end up in my closet soon. And I never exaggerate!
That first Marjan Pejoski dress is gorgeous! I love the cut and the studs on one shoulder.
This is one of my frequent stops— if you ever need an LA tour guide, do let me know, dear! You MUST visit!
wow - the martin lamothe dresse is wonderful. a wonderful kaftan-esque summer dress without too much “hippie”.
hehe… i don’t know anyone who can rock that first black dress better than queen michelle!
fenke… hippie problems are a big occurrence in so cal, so i’m happy to have found these pieces!
Design… I have two thwarted LA boutique excursions in the past 6months… rrr… i’ll be back in a few more months… so i’ll be calling!
I’m loving this site too….wondering how they got hold of so much KTZ stock…
goodness gracious! thank you so much for this, jennine! i love the ice cream dress and the black dress and the culottes and…
Hunters & Gathers does amazing collection, would love to see more in magazines.
Wonderful selection of clothes!
i agree with horst. trashy but in a good way although i’d say the first black dress is anything but trashy. those random circle cuts jutting out work suprisingly well.
[...] not, the driving sucks, but sometimes I wonder and I’d like to be closer to Mom). Like Welcome Hunters, Pixie Market is a seriously cool boutique in LA. I would say they have even more interesting [...]
