Today’s Attire : Repetition

by jennine on April 18, 2008

There are good things that come from repetition. Practice, skill, discipline, routine… all those come from series of repetitive acts.

I’ve been wearing the same outfits over and over.

Sure other bloggers may do it too… on occasion. Lately I haven’t been doing to many ‘Today’s Attire’ posts, mostly because I am not working at the moment. Well, I’m trying to figure out what I’m going to do for a living. I’m working on freelance things, and planning and scheming. So far, it’s been a 5 weeks since I left my 9 to 5 job.

It’s kind of a nice feeling, I don’t want to sound whiny. These past few weeks, I really thought about what I have in my wardrobe. What I really like, which pieces I really love and feel good in. Since coming to Germany with two pieces of luggage. I’ve really gotten into the rhythm of wearing the same pieces over and over. Trying them in different ways has opened some creative outlets I didn’t know I had.

well, both of these are lovely combinations. love the shoes in the first photo! i think that really stylish people are able to reuse and think about certain pieces over and over in a creative way. looks like Germany is good for you :)

I’ve just learned that, even though it’s completely normal to wear a piece more than once a week, as a blogger, I feel more pressure to always take photos of something new… and I just started! Uh oh :P

whenever i put together a great-looking outfit, i can’t help but wear it numerous days in a row until i’ve grown sick of it and feel the need to create something new.

My favorite items of clothing are those that I do wear more than once a week, and its fun mixing and matching. I’m finally getting back to having less but liking what I do have more, but I’m not a blogger and it would probably be differnt if I were (and doing daily photos)! Love your cardigan!

I love your shoes in the first picture, they’re really cute!

I totally agree with Sabrina…its amazing how lots of bloggers have a new outfit everyday… thats alot of pressure! One of the reasons I don’t do daily outfits…I just don’t have enough clothes!!!

Anyway, its more of a challenge to mix and match the same clothes to create different outfits! :)

and thanks alchemist for the inspiration, i’m going to think about this a little more.

moi… i don’t know how other bloggers are able to have so many new things! it’s amazing. but then again, i was always shopping too.. even when i should have been saving.

It sounds strange but it’s never occurred to me to wear the same thing again…. only coz I’d have to do laundry frequently as well and that will never do!

definitely- i’ve been stuck in an outfit rut for the past few weeks…
i’m guessing that means i need to go shopping.

Both of these are fantastic. I can’t even pick a favorite element and love all of the detail-the perfect use of accessories.
