A nice girl from a lace collar town…
Inspired by wedding cakes and fairy tales, 3-D textile designer Katherine Wardropper makes for beautiful textile jewelry resembling Elizabethan ruffs.
“Using a developed ‘Sculptural Fabric Technique’ and the search to conjure up a sense of the ‘marvelous’ and ‘extraordinary’ into everyday life, Katherine carefully hand constructs 3D patterns to create both decorative ‘Wearable Art’ and ‘Sculpture’ pieces.”
These pieces remind me a bit of the Gothic Lolita style, but hmm… as long as this idea has been gestating inside me, I’m wondering if it’s something to be integrated into everyday wear…

Just to add that I’m so happy I can comment here again at work…two days ago, it kept on saying The Coveted was a ‘phishing’ site and IE kept on crashing… terrifying stuff…

the last one are probably the most wearable. i would love a shirt with the second type of ruffling cascading down and around where the collar and buttons should be.
