It’s been a while since I’ve worn high heels on a daily basis. A year ago, I was walking around the streets of San Francisco one of my many pairs of heels, no problem. Since my lifestyle has changed, I’m rarely in need of heels, and I’m out of practice. Last week, I went out on a Friday night, only to nearly kill my feet in heels. I don’t have that many comfy lace-ups and the F Troupe cut-out Oxfords were dancing in my mind. Luckily I was able to snag a pair of brown leather Oxfords at the flea market for pretty cheap. And so far so good, my feet are still alive and kicking.
Since I’ve been on the lookout for easy to wear accessories, I spotted this lovely disc necklace on ChiChiDee’s Shop on Etsy. I haven’t been very big on necklaces lately mostly because I’m usually wearing a scarf, but I thought I’d give this a try. Wearing statement necklaces can be difficult because they can detract from the rest of the outfit. Sticking to simple shapes is probably the best way to get into experimenting with large necklaces. I mean, we all love Flava Flav but we don’t want to dress like him.
Lastly, is my dress… wearing lace can get pretty girly, and not always in a good way. I’ve had this white lace dress for some time, and I didn’t know how to rock it until this morning while getting dressed to wear it over (another flea market purchase) a simple black and grey striped dress. Stripes and lace usually bring Victorian images to mind, or something that belongs in a boudoir…

I love the look, so stylish! and the roses are just beautiful. Is this your garden? woah….
you look adorable! loving the layering and those oxfords are sweet. is that bridge in your backyard?
the two dresses together look lovely. and i really like your necklace
oh gosh.. no… my garden is rather unkept… we do have beautiful roses though… and in true form, i covet my neighbor’s roses. but they hang over to our side of the fence.
oh yes, i’ve been drooling over the f-troupe oxfords aswell! but yours are also nice, and probably they were much cheaper!?
This outfit is just poetic! The romantic lace gives very mysterious feeling when it is over the stripes. The earthy tone shoes give more character into the whole look! Love it very much xx
I absolutely love everything about the outfit, you make it perfect with your skin and hair and the serene outdoor setting.
the lace is so perfect for sunshine and roses!
Can’t go over all the wicked contrasts you’re playing with there…masculine and feminine, robust stripes and pretty lace….ack…
Love those shoes! I’ve been looking for some similar, but with no such luck.
Yay for roses!
You look great! The lace and the shoes are such an interesting combination. The necklace is very pretty too!
You look gorgeous! Germany agrees with you my dear…
You look simply lovely. Love the necklace.
ooh! so nice- I love the stripes with the lace. and that necklace is to die for…
That’s a very sweet and elegant look. I feel like women who look so lovely in flat oxfords know some sort of magical language I can never learn to speak!
I’ve fallen in love with the necklace and shoes … Gorgeous … Love the nature background!
oh my goodness! thank you so much for the lovely comments! they really made my day!
@fenke… yes… they were indeed cheaper than the ftroupes… but for some reason, i still want them!
@leah… hmmm… i don’t think it’s the season for them… but maybe i’ll do a post about lace up oxfords.

cute. but the lace dress has no shape and isn’t very flattering
