Of all the beautiful gemstones of the world, none is more precious than air… and without it, we perish. I’ve always been fascinated by the ways of which air inspires, from Rodarte’s floaty, cloud-like dresses, to balloons. Inspired by balloons, Réka Lorincz created these lovely pieces out of biodegradable plastic for stage performances… but you know how it is, if it’s good enough for the stage, well it’s good enough for real life.
Based in Hungary, Lorincz is now exhibiting her work at the Sterling Gallery, which has a selection of limited edition, handcrafted jewelry Hungary’s best contemporary designers. Definitely worth a peek, as I don’t know about you, but I was unaware of Hungary’s jewelry scene.

Beautiful concept. And a beautiful model, she has a very different look and it showcases the pieces really perfectly.
What a concept…. my version of wearing air is a little less pretty…
yeah, i think the model is perfect too.. i wonder if they are friends because she’s in some of Lorincz’s older collections.
susie… i am sure your version of air is beautiful!
Fun! I might even welcome a “full of hot air” comment in one of these
