Wood shop attire just keeps getting better and better. From Devo’s classic performing jumpsuits, the standard base of most men’s Halloween costumes, to the beautiful Punky B, utilitarian worksuits, better known as jumpsuits or coveralls are popping back up on the radar again. Perhaps it’s the return of the unitard, the dress, sensible attire that’s egging this on. Whatever it is, it’s registering on my radar as something surprisingly cool.
The first I saw a woman wearing this was at the Lancome event in Paris, Alice, photographed by Garance, looked stunning, wearing a utility jumpsuit. We all thought she was a model with her striking red hair and waif like physique. None the less I couldn’t stop staring at her, which probably made the poor woman very uncomfortable.
Punky B, styles her jumpsuit with killer heels and lovely Frenchy stripes:
Getting your own…
Aside from comfort and function, another reason to play around with these jumpsuits is the price. They are relatively cheap on eBay, ranging around $10-$20 for Navy women’s jumpsuits if you want something closer to your actual size, or there is a wide range of them in men’s which is great if you’re tall.
Army Sage Fight Suit $39
Navy Women’s Pilot Jumpsuit $12

I’ve been curious to get one of these, but I didn’t know if I’d be able to pull it off.
By the way, I read the feature El Fashionista posted about you. Very awesome!
