Random Ruffle

by jennine on October 2, 2008

Heaven knows I love neck ruffs. Ruffles, scarves turtlenecks… anything fluffy and cozy you can put in my ‘love’ column. Well, I found this ruffle thing at the flea market, not sure what it is exactly, but I’ve seen matching skirts. I’m sure it belongs to some sort of Ethnic European costume of some sorts, and if it is… I don’t have the rest of the costume.

I’ve spent some time with this little piece of ruffle, putting it on my neck like a scarf… trying it on with lacey tops and red sweaters and I have to say, I want more ruffles.

*Love* it! I wonder what it’s original intent was?

I have a piece of fuschia ruffle from the bottom of a dress that I wear as a scarf sometimes. This reminded me of mine. I like the effect of different textures you did here though. Very cool.

This “ruff” is very pretty, it really suits you.
AND I LOVE YOUR HAIR. I am thinking of maybe getting the chop so I keep staring at your lovely hair and wondering. xxx

aw thanks so much for all the nice comments…
@ambika i don’t know, it has some snaps on it, but the the male half, so i’m guessing the other portion of the snap is on something… who knows?

@maria… ooh ruffles from dresses… i’m edging towards my scisors right now.

@madi robot… thanks love.. i’m really just growing out my hair since the last cut, the probelm with fringes is that if you can’t cut them yourself, it gets cumbersome. thankfully i’ve got a good pair of scissors and i’ve figured out how to cut them straight.

@meghan, thanks red lippy seems to be the only one i can keep up these days… don’t know why that is.

The ruff’s great - I wonder what the rest of the costume would have looked like. Looks particularly good with the white top, I think.

@snowshoe… i was growing my bangs too… but i keep caving, it’s a vicious cycle isn’t it?

@meli.. ooh yeah, i’ tried the head piece and it worked ok… but i think it attaches to a blouse for some reason, it’s such a mystery.

Looks great with the white lace. Though i never really liked our german traditional clothing, I really must say, you pull it off! Just like the childrens’ dirndl-look-a-like a few days ago. Something I’d never consider but it really hit me how good you looked.
And your hair looks fab, like many said before.

You know, sometimes I start to think I’m relatively brave and creative when it comes to what I put on — then I see a post like this from you and my socks get blown off! There’s just a world of stuff I never even think of — and you not only think of it, you wear it beautifully!

@swan… aww i missed you too! i don’t know, if my hair could do this every day, i’d be a much happier person. but it rather has an unruly mind of its own…

@cammila, i have no idea what you’re talking about… you do all kinds of wild things with clothes!
