Did you ever dream of being a ballerina? Was ‘plié and up’ the the furthest you got? Well, it was for me. I bailed out of ballet in the 2nd grade.
Did you ever dream of being a ballerina? Was ‘plié and up’ the the furthest you got? Well, it was for me. I bailed out of ballet in the 2nd grade. I did convince my mom to buy me ballet flats instead of the regular green and white Adidas I normally wore.
For those of us who never made it to dancing sur les pointes, Sonny Vandevelde captured the Junko Shimada show where the most unusual ballet heels, not quite ballet boots or ballet flats, these are a bit more forgiving with plexi heels and a platform. On the models, they certainly give the illusion of dancing sur les pointes… without ALL the foot damage.

I absolutely love these. All heels give an illusion of height and swagger, but these also give the illusion of form! absolutely beautiful.
I’m totally crazy enough to want these. I love them. Very Margiela too. Now… where to find them?
The closest to this I’ve come are these black heels.

Oh dear- from someone who danced on pointe for many years, I can tell you that these shoes are much more dangerous!! Yikes- not worth an injury!!!
Hi J

@fabulously thanks!
@patti… well, of course, if you danced, it would be less dangerous.. though it don’t think these shoes are as dangerous as prada’s ss09 heels!
su… great to see you!
So cool! I always wanted to be a ballerina!
I love those! They are my childhood dream realized! I also quit ballet early, after a month, telling my mom that we just did the same thing over and over again (plié) and all I wanted was to dance in a tutu in the theater… but not enough to plié for a year.
yah i just saw these on style bubble, and i was thinking it must be quite the effect to see these in motion
Oh how I love Shimada, shoe art!
I’m crazy enough to attempt a DIY at these. It’s taking some serious time.
