’since high school I never wore anything I bought straight from the store until it was re-designed and unique to me..’
There may be a circus going on in my head… but it’s a stylish circus. There’s been a lot of visual cues from unconventional designers that take ruffles, ruffs, pleats, and puffed sleeves to the next level. Gareth Pugh, Sandra Backlund are a couple of designers that really make the most out of the over the top sculptural harlequin-royal-queen-clown however you might interpret it… aesthetic, pushing it over to something completely new and refreshing.
Samantha Cole London , whom I found on nineteen74… just does that… taking visual cues no matter how over the top and transforming them into wearable art. This most recent collection, is partially Jack the Ripper dark and Victorian… with paper like silk ruffle blouses that look like they might make the crackling sound of paper when you touch it. I also like the top hats… but then again, I’ve always been a sucker for tophats.
Ms. Cole, a LCF graduate has gone on her own since designing at Burberry… she’s taken fashion as part of her core being…’since high school I never wore anything I bought straight from the store until it was re-designed and unique to me..’ Now if that’s not motivation for customising your wardrobe… what is?

Oh…mygod. I don’t normally get super responsive to designers, but I think she found many of my buttons and pushed them.
I love everything about this. I really have to keep myself from buying everything with ruffles on it… especially squared off ones.
And I love top hats too! I need a grey one!
