Two things that have nothing to do with each other. On Wednesday, I downright declared to Danny Daily I was going to steal his post. So here we are. With a stolen post. I almost feel like a cat who can’t resist playing his favorite game. Danny, had spotted the talent of Inbar Spector with her debut collection:
‘Spector’s collection finds gothic couture, meeting with the unsettled essence of transition. Spector took the issue of immigration as her focus for the collection: the notion of relocation and carrying your previous life on yourself’
I knew I liked what I saw in the collection, I loved the gothy, gauzy post apocalyptic feel. But upon reading the statement, I instantly felt a connection with it. As Thanksgiving is drawing near, I realize gap between where I’m from and where I am, and how it affects who I am. Perhaps it’s fitting that I live in Hesse, as I often feel like a stranger in a strange land.
And the sun, from two planets: one sunrise on Earth, the other a sunset taken of the rim of Gusev crater on Mars. Both breathtaking in their own right, and well, you can fill in the rest here.
(not to get all Total Recall, but the one with the blue sky is Earth)
