Swiss Bliss

by jennine on January 12, 2009

Over the past few years, the  vintage clothing has really gone through an evolution. Vintage used to be sold charity shops and  in overstuffed, dusty, boutiques, organized by color.  The last couple of years, we’ve seen a lot of great photos coming up, very styled, giving vintage a new life… and now more vintage sellers using photography to evoke a lifestyle, fresh, young and hip, immune to the side effects of smoking and late nights out on the town.  Ah the life.

Swiss vintage seller Kimandra Vintage, does just that.. their aim isn’t just to sell you a dress, but to inspire you to love your vintage.

‘The online store is also a political stand point where we believe that creating a love for the individual piece encourages long term use and therefore discourages consumerism and over production.’

Blue Dress 35€/ Leather Jacket 28€

Collared Grandma Blouse 28 €/Sparkly pullover 32€

Gold Glitter Pants 32 €… Might be a good thing for my new gold obsession.

Amen to that! We love that people are getting more and more into vintage, because not only does it make it easy to have a unique style, it’s very eco-friendly!

We hope we are one of those sellers that are ‘giving vintage a new life’? We posted photos from our latest shoot today… I hope you like them:

I love it when vintage sellers have great styling, even if it miffs me that people are paying outrageous amounts for something easily found that thrifts.

But I have to thank these stylish pickers for showing apprehensive shoppers how stylish vintage can be. I take it for granted that I can visualize how a garment might play with modern clothing in my head. People have told me they cannot.

❤sara… i guess great minds think a like!
❤prettyface… oh thanks… my shop was too much work… way too much.
❤mp… wholeheartedly agree
❤sandra… you are so right, i really don’t like seeing thriftstore stuff going for three digits. it’s crazy. and as far as modernizing vintage clothes, it must be hard because it really takes imagination to make it work properly, and unfortunately many people have thier imagination quotient filled in other areas.
