You can chain me up, as long as it looks good, doesn’t weigh too much, and doesn’t constrict movement. How’s that for a primadonna? I also like camping as long as there’s a nice bed and a hot shower. These past few years we’ve been seeing a lot of chains, either chains made of felt or plushy fabric, we’ve seen chain harnesses, chain prints. Once chains were reserved for hairy chests on disco dance floors, but not any more. Munich based designer, Ayzit Bostan’s AW09 collection integrates chains with clothing making for a delicate and uneasy balance between beauty and function. I almost want to ask ‘is that painful?’ but it looks like it works, the chains are thin holding the fabric in place, and the fabric light enough not to cause digging. Had I not visited her studio last September to see some of this in action, I’d have my doubts, but the things I tried on fit really nicely and comfortably. So the chains, they work, they work in a modern and elegant way. No Mr. T’s here (though, I’d totally welcome him too).

Oh, love that chain strung through the collar. That’d be pretty easy to replicate, too.
