The Hunter

Drooling over Australian fashion isn’t something I’m new too… as I think my nose prints are still on the windows of Elizabeth Charles… What I am new to, however, is seeing Australian fashion collections as they come out, up close and personal. While many designers push the envelope creating collections that while dazzling, render themselves unwearable in real life, Australian designer Carly Hunter’s SS10 collection, titled “Apollo,” is creative and can be worn right off the rack. I love the twists she does with the trimmed fringe neckline on a sheer blouse, or the double tank, the surprise layers. All pieces that reflect a relaxed, easy spirit that doesn’t teeter into laziness. Quite refreshing to see in these summer months when I consider myself lucky if I can get out of a ratty tank top and jeans.

[UPDATE] Carly Hunter’s label will be available online in September at www.fashionwa.com
