home made halloween cosutmes

Halloween is by far my FAVORITE holiday. Since childhood, it’s been that way, the candy, the dressing up, the candy. I used to go all out and buy a ton of stuff to make elaborate costumes, but one year in a rush, Rocky and I made our own awesome costumes in 30 minutes using what I already had in my closet.

Last year I embarked on a challenge… how many costumes can I put together using what I already own?
It resulted in the Halloween in My Closet series, where from your suggestions and votes, I created SEVEN costumes, a Sailor, Can-Can Girl, Circus Ringleader, 60’s Housewife, Natasha from Bullwinkle & Friends, Cat Lady, and a Retro Flight Attendant.

So this year, I’m going to amp up the challenge… instead of giving you a list of things to choose from, I’m going to let you throw out ANY IDEA in your mind you would like to see, and I’m going to put the costume together and show  you how I did it.

What Halloween costumes do you want to see?

Hee hee! I was wondering if you would have time to do this again this year. I haven’t done a Halloween costume in a years. I’m always stumped as to what to do. I love Judy Jetson. Awesome idea! Everything I think of begins with sexy, like these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CIb1LVxvb4. Yeah, I’m not going to sport fishnet stocks, a bikini bottom and halter to be a sailor (but maybe when I was younger). My sister’s totally into it. She made Edward Gorey costumes for her and her friends one year. She’s also been the scary girl from The Ring and Tina Turner in Mad Max!

I love the costumes you and Rocky did. Perhaps you could do some superhero or Priss from Blade Runner (your eye makeup reminded me of her).

What about a Victorian Lady? Or Evey Hammond from V for Vendetta? Except she has a shaved head…a little hard to do without a big commitment! Or, the best of all; Wonder Woman.
