A red beret will brighten any day…

Post image for A red beret will brighten any day…

I wore this little beret to the Dress Up Soiréeeveryone told me not to forget it, but after the party, a group of us went to a little bar around the corner, and what did I do? Forget my beret. Luckily Pamela of Market Publique who also gave me this hat… picked it up and mailed it to my home. She’s so good to me. I love berets they’re the most darling form of hat. Yeah, yeah, there might be others, but my heart belongs to the beret family.

I’m starting to realize that Chicago’s ‘Windy City’ isn’t a proverbial name like ‘London Fog’ the wind… is real.. I’m starting to pull more and more items out of my winter box… one of them being a vintage wool skirt I picked up last year at the Frankfurt flea market. I didn’t wear it much last year because I thought it was too long, but Susie Bubble has been inspiring me to dabble back in the longer skirt length. This skirt is make of perfect wool pleats and a nice lining. In order to keep it from looking too matronly, I’ve stolen Rocky’s eagle belt, and wore it over my SPUN boat neck top (which I’m living in), and my denim vest.

I love the entire outfit! I loved that beret, too!

Oh yes, the wind is real. I’m going to go home and exchange this blazer for a blanket and my heat!

It adds the perfect pop of color! I also really love the pearl barrette you’re wearing in your hair.

I find London really windy and always come home with frizzy, messy hair! Hats look silly on me (they just don’t suit my face shape!) so I wear snoods in the winter. I have a bright pink one and people always make fun of me, but hey, it keeps my hair neat! ;)

My old Chicagoland wind will blow that beautiful beret right out into Lake Michigan if you’re not careful, Miss Jennine!

I love what you’ve done here. Your touch with reds is magical. I love the houndstooth, also.

Love this outfit…such a perfect hodgepodge of colors and styles! I wore a red beret throughout all of 4th and 5th grades, so this re-emergence of the beret in the fashion world is taking me back to weird places.

Husbands closes can have the best accessories, like that peek of leggings too. Your style is definitely rocker chick, black, silver, edgy with a touch of soft this season, I like it.

OMG love your skirt I’m on the hunt for the very same. I’m desperate to find one and have been kicking myself for parting with a H&M one many years ago - it was so passée at the time!
You look lovely in the whole outfit and the red beret does add a dash.

I love your little red beret…. and the blue nails! That’s one of my favorite polish shades, though I know we both share that feeling of our fingers not being able to breathe when we wear it…

You’re so rock’n roll ;)

I remember seeing you in that beret at the Soiree. It really stood out; the style and the color are unforgettable. I grew up wearing berets, and I feel that I’ve lost touch with them. They can really change the feel of any outfit - they can be ladylike sometimes, and spunky at some other times. I’m inspired to get back into them.

I love berets too! I think it’s because I love anything kind of Frenchy.

Glad you got reunited with your beret. I lost my hat (black vintage turban) after IFB as well… it fell out of my bag in the back of a cab and I literally realized it as the cab drove away. Oh, irony! :P
