Don’t Shoot The Messengers

Cleverly titled for Berlin Press Day, where fashion meets the press, Don’t Shoot The Messengers is the new collection by Jen Gilpin and Kyle Callanan present their latest collection. As she was the one who designed my wedding dress, I have a bit of a special attachment to how Canadian ex-pat in Berlin is evolving as a designer. This new collection, definitely ties in the previous collection entitled ‘A Collection of Skin‘ which had these luscious works in leather. Jen’s always had an avant garde approach, yet her earlier works have been more simplified and wearability playing a key factor in the designs,  I can really see European style seeping into her collections as the structure becomes more complex. Which is why I’m  a firm believer that everyone should spend extended time on both sides of the pond.  Trust me, it’s not as hard or as impossible as it seems.

Lovely! She does beautiful, inspired work and your wedding dress was gorgeous. Being influenced by multiple locations as well as having a label with more than one designer, really adds depth to the pieces.

Have to say, the title of the post and the expression of the model, scared me at first..ha ha

I’d love to have that top dress. It’s structured, but subversive.
