Thieves Like Us

by jennine on October 28, 2009

It just never ceases to amaze me how the green movement is changing the way we think about fashion. Good design and affordability steadily push the movement forward, making happen what seemed impossible only a few years ago, I’m delighted to see designers stick around and even more designers turn towards the movement. Canadian based Thieves by Sonja den Elzen recently came out with her new collection on the recently launched online boutique. Focusing on designing with eco friendly fabrics such as organic wool, organic cotton, peace silk, bamboo, tencel and vegetable tanned leather, the collection pulls elements from the kinds of clothing we want to wear, and the clothing that actually make it into everyday attire, like drapey wool jersey dresses and chunky sculptural knits. They’re the kind of pieces that I’ve really been craving this season.

I love the draping on that dress, very nice! And yes, I think the next few years are going to be very interesting to watch the green movement and seeing how eco fashion impacts the rest of the fashion industry and how it will leave its mark.

wow, i love these pieces! and the fact that they’re using organic cotton, etc. makes the pieces all the more desirable.
