Violetville Visits

by jennine on November 16, 2009

Over the weekend, the lovely Tina Poppy from Violetville Vintage came down to Chicago for the afternoon and we had a lovely time… first checking out the Jimmy Choo for H&M which, I don’t think either of us were moved to stand in the massive line to try them on! Either we missed all the good stuff, or the shoes weren’t that _____. So we escaped the the insanity of Saturday shopping and hung out in a raw restaurant and hung out there, sipping strange juices and eating pretty colors. I had a mushroom tower with pretty yellow and purple layers.

Of course I had to get you some photos of Tina, she was wearing such pretty colors! A beautiful mix of vintage pieces, naturally. A double collared taupe jacket, with a vintage DVF wrap dress, and the most amazing necklace with mystery fruit (we couldn’t decide it they were acorns or eggplants!) And the most perfect Pour La Victoire boots.
violetteville3violetteville2Are they eggplants or acorns?

such great volume on the colors of violet’s outfit. I am constantly trying to work more color into my own looks and feel inspired by this outfit.

Definitely not acorns. They have a little cap, not a pronged thingy. I’d say eggplant or maybe a fig or something? Anyway, LOVE the boots! Way to pull off the over-the-knee look. In fact, this is the best look I’ve seen to date. What a cutie!

Love her hair and her lipstick!

I vote eggplants on the necklace. I just love the way she put the whole look together…it has almost a relaxed sort of “new look” feel, with the jacket and then the dress/boots. Sooo gorgeous.

Those can’t be acorns. The cap on an acorn looks more like a beret; the caps on hers look more like jester hats. I vote eggplant.

19 yumna November 16, 2009 at 2:36 pm

she is so beautiful!

20 Maria November 16, 2009 at 2:45 pm

Just wow. The photos themselves speak volumes of the day you two spent together-and Tina seems to be in perfect harmony with the colours around her.

I think the mystery pendants may be dragon fruits? Hmmm… Maybe not, but they sure remind me of them.
