Printer’s Row in Chicago is one of my favorite neighborhoods to walk around. I love the history of the area, where all the catalogs from Sears and Montgomery Ward would be printed. I can’t help finding peace in the rustic brick buildings, quiet streets (aside from the construction), the industrial details here and there. It’s urban, but somehow deserted. This afternoon I took a walk around the neighborhood, enjoying the hazy autumn day.
Today, I pulled out a cozy animal printed sweatshirt dress found at the Frankfurt flea market back in my vintage shop days, and paired it with opaque argyle tights. One of my common color combinations is black and brown, for it seems logical, brown softens the starkness of the black, but the contrast is low enough to where it just adds depth. I know these studded boots have made a lot of appearances lately, they’re on a rotation between brown boots and these black ones. Maybe it’s time to get new shoes, wear different ones, but really, is it necessary?

“(…) but really, is it necessary?” … No its not!!! Doubt if a single person got bored with those, they are absolutely amazing… and they are great with every single outfit you pull on. I actually went to aldo to find a pair for myself, but obviously they are out of stock already…

thanks my dear! it’s a little easier to do it here because of the variety of scenery… the old place in germany was ok, but i got sick of the trees! (sort of)
There’s no need to buy new shoes. Wear what you love to death. I have minimized my wardrobe down to staples and pieces I absolutely love.
If prints are mixed then who is to say brown and black cannot be as well?
You look chic and comfortable. That’s just my two cents.
it’s always good to take a look at your wardrobe and assess what you love and what to do without. i’m begining to do that more and more and it helps with figuring out what i actually love.
I think that the look is great! black and brown is a fave of mine too and I love your tights…
I don’t think that you can ever have too many boots! go for it!

me too, it’s one of my favorite things about cities, is finding cool out of the beaten path neighborhoods.
I really like each individual piece of this outfit and together it is so interesting. The boots are very cool, definitely deserving frequent wear.

shoe variety is definitely a good thing, but unless the heels are falling off there’s no need to completely stop wearing them
i wore my boots a week straight when I first bought them before realizing maybe I should change it up. But at the same time…if it’s a good thing, there’s no harm done. And if someone actually DOES care,I just call that snooty.

heh, and it’s usually a good thing when you find something you love to wear it till it falls apart right?
I just love everything about this. And that last photo - you look so gorgeous! That vintage leather jacket is amazing! And the boots are from Aldo? Really? I do not remember those and I’ve been shopping at Aldo for um, 15 yrs, LOL. Not sure when it came to the US but it’s been in Canada forever. And I adore your sunnies.

The subtle metallics in the sweatshirt print are such fun. And hey, if I had those boots, I’d wear them every day, too!

I love the top! I actually have a similar one in my shop right now, but it has all-over gold foil dots & batwings. Super cute with those tights. I totally forgot about Charlotte Russe. They always have such cute little strapless dresses. Not that I can wear them, but they are cute nonetheless. Anyway, cute outfit & I LOVE those boots. Rock them every day if you want, they’re fabulous. Have a great day!
