Hannah Marshall : Encryption

We live in a strange world today, with global voyeurism and uniformity… yet no matter how much the same we all are, we still remain unique.  That uniqueness, personal dreams and fears the tiny piece that makes us special, Hananah Marshall views as encrypted, to be revealed to the deserved few. I’ve never thought about it quite like that, but it’s true. Our individual qualities may not be so unique on their own, but in combination of the millions of other variables, makes for a code hard to decrypt even for our own selves.

Hannah Marshall’s SS10 collection is acts as kind of a ‘postmodern armor.’ that changes the silhouette of the body with architectural forms. With stark angles and the combination of silk an leather it really gives a nice contrast between touch and intimidation.  While the angular shoulders of the blazers really fall into the what I want now category, what drew my attention was the bullet boob silhouette. It seems that lately we’ve really gone the way of the relaxed fit of clothing, and ignoring the bosoms all together. While I don’t really like to bring attention to the girls too much, I don’t think I’d mind if the bullet silhouette made it’s reappearance…  it’s time.

Do you have a lot of trouble fitting in the silhouettes of today? I can imagine that if you have a bust, things look totally different than on the flat chested models that designers have on their mind while designing so much more often than girls with curves… I guess that you end up buying separates more often than dresses, too…
I’m asking because the other day, when you posted about the black’n'gold t-shirt dress, I really loved that what it did to your proportions, but is it difficult for you to find such an item in more structured, woven fabric version?
I can completely imagine that showing them of in well fitting corset piece like the ones today would make you look, well, just GREAT!, with some high waisted trousers…
I’m having an idea here about one piece, that’s why I’m asking……

ooh that’s a good question… well i think for me, it’s a bit harder because the silhouettes today can make me look a bit frumpy if i’m not careful. even though, it’s really comfortable. i have a couple of bullet silhouette pieces, and will dig them out, as i don’t think it’s just for super skinny girls!

I love the collection…it comes off as futuristic, but in a retro way…super cool!

Hi, that’s a good point! If you like this see http://www.jaynepierson.co.uk. New designer, Jayne Pierson is also the future forward! Girls with large breasts would not be able to wear those tiny pointed bra’s however I do love Hannah Marshall too!
