Lady Dior’s Eyes of Mars

by jennine on January 19, 2010

For the people who wonder what will happen to all the glossy fashion photos, editorials and advertisements if print as we know it dies, there is an old adage, ‘God doesn’t close a door without opening a window.’ I had my doubts about fashion videos, as many of them feature some girl spinning around in a field with a lot of lens flare, then again, a lot of fashion spreads look rather samey too.

Chapter 2 of the Lady Dior campaign confirmed in my mind that the new media will offer loads of opportunities for stellar collaborations and new creativity on the internet. One of my favorite actresses Marion Cotillard, the face of Lady Dior teamed up with Franz Ferdinand to create Lady Rouge. It’s pretty morning music, well it’s just very pretty with a distinct vintage feel (if I knew more about music, I’d specify a 60′s genre). Click play to listen to The Eyes of Mars…

If that weren’t all… I got word that David Lynch will direct Chapter 3 to be released later this year.

Just in case you missed Chapter 1, or wanted to see the Lady Noir film again… Ever since I saw this film, I’ve been obsessed with her eyeshadow. How do you ask for Marion Cotillard eyes?

J’adore Marion. Ever since I saw her in “Love Me If You Dare” and “A Very Long Engagement” I’ve been intrigued by her sultry voice.

I definitely love this new movement from print to video. Fashion is now inclusive with music and drama, it creates a beautiful melding of artistic modes of expression!

She is very beautiful indeed with most amazing eyes and lips. I have to admit I haven’t see the video yet, but I am intrigued - especially because of Davis Lynch’s involvement! He is the king of noir and his portrayals of misterious femme fatales are extraordinary!
