Viva Glam Cyndi: Pink Lady Lipstick

by jennine on April 8, 2010

How is it, that sometimes there a millions of lipsticks in my pockets and in my handbags and the make drawer, and then all the sudden, I can’t find a lipstick anywhere? You’d think it would be easy to stay organized and keep the lipstick in the make up drawer, but that hardly ever happens. Lipstick is one of those ‘field necessities’ like a phone, wallet, keys and lipstick. Everything else, is just extra no matter how you put it.

A couple of weeks ago, I was having one of those days when I couldn’t find any of my lipsticks anywhere? Where did they go? Who knows, perhaps they went off to go live with my pens and socks. If you see them, give them my regards. Either way, I needed something new to compliment my Spring obsession, so I stopped by the MAC store and told them I was looking for something new.  Coral Pink… now that’s a hard color for brunettes with olive skin tones, we tend to be able to wear red, fuchsia, orange, plum, deep colors…but when it comes to soft, neutral colors it gets tricky.  As I’ve always told my friends, “I feel like a fraud in pastels.” But they suggested I try the Viva Glam Cyndi, the limited edition lip color that raises money for AIDS awareness, so I bought it. After a few weeks of wearing this (when I can find it) it’s so nice, a pretty alternative to nude, and more substantial than gloss. It really works for those days when red is to much work without being too boring. So now I have tried pink and liked it…what’s next?

Could I please stop being obsessed with every pair of glasses you have lately? First the round cat’s eyes, now these!

Also, I wish I could wear lipstick, but I end up looking like a kid drinking koolaid, and I’m too lazy for lipliner!

I am a brunette with olive complexion too and I have been wearing pink lip gloss (Revlon streetwear) all my life! I have received compliments, so I know it suits me well. :)

Mostly because I’m too lazy to keep up with red lipstick all day, I tend to wear pinks or neutrals myself (and I have similar coloring to you :) ). I think for spring time especially it compliments the light and cheerful season looks. Right now my favorite would be NARS Roman Holiday and, would you believe it, CoverGirl’s Parisian Pink, but I’ll have to check out this color too - it’s a lovely shade on you!

I bought the Cyndi Viva Glam lipstick soon after it came out and have been wearing it a ton lately! I have several coral pink lipsticks, and this one is by far my favorite. ;) I love it on you-proving that it works on a myriad of skin tones! Gorgeous!!! :)

I have a suggestion to keep your lipsticks organized. It cost about $2. My dad actually bought it for me when I told him about my idea. Ha. I wanted to take one of his but he said NO WAY
