Lanvin Hearts H&M Details

Lanvin Hearts H&M bowtie

Last night I went to the Lanvin Hearts H&M press preview to see for myself just how covet-worthy this collection would be. In times past, I’ve talked about how many designer collaborations were too gimmicky, the quality being very poor and the price being high for what it is. This collaboration between H&M and Lanvin does not disappoint. Granted, most of the collection is something that you’d really only wear once, the details and the fabrics go well beyond what you expect from H&M.

In the video  the necklaces looked stiff and plasticky, but well, they’re plasticky but they have a lot of movement.

The shoes seemed well constructed for the $99 price point with leather lining. I haven’t had much luck with H&M shoes…but I might give these a try. Lady shoes are back this year!

I expected the yellow dress to be flimsy, but the fabric is soft and substantial, the raw edges a nice touch.

The patterns were rich as well…

Rack appeal…

I caught June Ambrose wearing the faux fur jacket and sunglasses.. doesn’t it look lovely on her?

(Thanks Christina for the tip!)

The shoes look so great. Not sure if it’s worth the splurge if you only wear it a couple times though..

Wish I had cash to buy a couple of the pieces I have my beady little eyes on! Love that woman - she looks great in that fur.

I am going to have to live vicariously through you, J! I won’t be near an H&M until December and I am pretty sure everything will be picked over. Le sigh …

the collection looks great, but you’re right, it does consist of a lot of pieces that you could probably only wear once or twice. that necklace is gorgeous though, and i really love that fur jacket!

For me it was interesting the collaboration with ACNE, in this case the pieces look nice, but I don’t know…The t-shirts are fun though.

BTW, how is all the NY project going on? I may be the last one to tell you, but I wish you all the luck in the world! :-) I was a bit out of the internet world, but I’m slowly coming back….I guess

It’s nice to hear that the quality of the pieces is up to par. I think of all the pieces you featured, the necklace intrigues me the most-it’s probably the most versatile item. Did you get an idea of the price point that it’d retail for?

glad to know the quality seems good: some of my best tops are H&M from about 7 years ago and i’ve noticed just how bad the quality has gotten in the last 2 years-everything falls apart within days. makes me not want to shop there much. i wish i had a smashing holiday party to wear one of these dresses to!

Is the necklace in fact plastic? It does photograph well. Thanks for letting us know the dresses are worth it!

I am not a Lavin fan because it is too frilly and “little princess-like” for my tastes…but those shoes…I could definitely love those shoes and wear them often.

Great post, needed it after all the info on how the collection looks but not that much on whether it’s any good…but the price tags, i must say, so steep!!! After all it’s only H&M right??

I wasn’t as excited at first but the more that’s revealed the more I get giddy for this collection. Hopefully some of the pieces will trickle to one of the Philly stores.

This is nice to hear. I try to not get too excited about collaborations like this, for all of the reasons you’ve mentioned here. The prints on the fabrics are lovely, so it’s nice to hear they have a good feel to them as well.

SO glad you did this. Questions on the quality seem to be a top concern, but between you and June, I think my fears have departed. =D
