Hello Lady Preen AW11

by jennine on February 13, 2011

I’ve been going through a crisis lately… well sort of lately…lately-ish? Definitely feeling more grown up, wanting to dress well, but not like a 20 year old, but NOT like an old lady. I want to wear crisp silhouettes, no more mini skirts, and silk, oh yeah.

This was all going in the back of my mind for some time, and didn’t really know how to articulate it, until this morning at the Preen show at Milk Studios. First off… I LOVED the hair and makeup. So fresh, clean, and not boring hairstyles, the knotted hair, subtle makeup. Oh boy. There was a lady doing some last minute ironing where I caught the collar details. Hippie tribal for the “ladies who lunch”.

The show had more of this, bold prints, with a hint of aristocracy. I just loved the rich autumn colors, navy blue, hot orange, and bold purples. All my favorite colors.

I hope we don’t get sick of orange before the week is out because it’s certainly the star of FW11

I feel like lately I have been leaning towards classic pieces with pops of color. I want to dress more like women do in Paris. I do have my bold, and in your face days but I’m trying to look more polished.

Beautiful splashes of color. I also love the snap of the makeup/hair plan. So classic.

Looks as though orange is gaining momentum into Fall/Winter! I have been going through the same thing in terms of wanting to dress more maturely. For me it has translated into more modesty and more structured clothing but sticking to the same colours and style I love.
