Native Calling Cushnie et Ochs

by jennine on February 14, 2011

Oh dear, I’ve been sitting here for an hour trying to think of what to say about the Cushnie et Ochs collection. When I first saw the models with the show, I found it delightful. Of course going back stage, it was great to see the topknots with feathers sticking out.. the Dashing Diva nail artists gluing black beads to the nails of models that looked like caviar. Beautiful makeup work.

I really loved the Native American references with the elastic boning, geometric shapes, goat fur garters mixed with severely sexy silhouettes. A lot of it was something that I would want to wear, something that I do want to wear, a good mix of the edgy with classic cuts. And the SHOES! Aldo’s new Rise program, did amazing job with the metal plates that reminded me of plows. How cool. I’ve never seen shoes quite like them. Perfect for girls who scuff their shoes (ahem, me).

Beaded nails look cool, I might eat them if they were on my nails though…

Snow plow pumps. Goat hair garters.
