L’effrontée: Accessories Make The Outfit

by jennine on March 24, 2011

One of my favorite, favorite, favorite (did I mention favorite?) things about life in New York, life in my neighborhood is the serendipity that happens by just going from point A to B.

The other day, I was off to find my favorite phở on Mott Street, and passed by this darling boutique pop up shop, L’effrontée. Minimal interior with a very specific curation, it really felt like walking into an installation of super chic accessories, with designers like Camila Skarsgard, Angel Jackson, Linda Farrow, and Red by Wolves, and a few others who I’ve discovered through the shop, like Iosselliani. It inspired me to make a better effort with accessories, as often times in boutiques, accessories are afterthoughts… even though a lot of times it’s what makes the outfit.

Owner, Cristina Salazar says, “I started L’effrontée because I believe in the saying “accessories make an outfit”. I really tried to curate something different for the consumer. A destination where they can mix match cutting edge accessories and revamp their old outfits, vintage, or add to their new ones. My partner Beatriz is an amazing jewelry designer and we plan to launch the L’effrontée brand in the fall. So, our partnership made a lot of sense when we collaborated.”

I’m in love with Angel Jackson’s handbags. The sequin satchel is adorable.

It’s hard to tell here… but see how the chains have this gradation.. so cool.

From silver to gold tone… love!

Baubles that attach to your shoes. Can’t wait for spring!

I’m practically drooling over all these pretty things. That sequin bag is amazing! I also love the tusk necklace. Gave up all non-esential shopping for Lent to reign in my shopping habit but posts like this make me wish Easter would hurry up and get here. So much for self-control!

Everything is perfect! And I like the fabulous shoes. Can I have all of them?

Yanira March 24, 2011 at 3:16 pm

Call me crazy ( I know, I can be) but as beautiful as the elephant necklace is, the trunk is pointing down which is bad luck. Trunks point up symbolize good fortune. Okay, now you can call me crazy. On another note, those Angel Jackson bags are sick!

That skully necklace is astonishing! I love it! Wish I lived in New York. One good thing about living in the UK though: I have a gold oversized Angel Jackson shopper (which is absolutely gorgeous, I would really recommend them) that I got on the cheap from TJ Maxx for £90. It’s my favourite bag ever :)
