Runway Details: Erdem AW11

erdem aw11

There are a few designers for my ‘if only I had a shit load a money’ wardrobe. Obviously I need a label like Erdem to help me act more like a lady. The designer is one of the few who can masterfully make a floral print look like a work of art, Erdem Moralioglu can make a pencil skirt with more detail than a ball gown. Lord knows I love me a good pencil skirt!

The other week, I happened upon seeing the Erdem pop up showroom and got to fondle the pieces up close. Which was such a treat because I’ve been ogling them on Net-a-Porter for ages. It’s rather hard to envision spending $900 on a floral dress until you see what kind of quality goes into one of their pieces. Honestly, the golden silk pencil skirt had layers of embroidery and silk embellishing with the most intricate lining I’ve ever seen. The collection definitely seems worth it, almost a deal even. I hadn’t really ever seen such well constructed pieces that were outrageous as well as completely wearable. I guess it’s things like this that makes a girl want to grow up and dress like a lady. It made this girl want to grow up anyway.

I dream about buying Erdem clothes. If I had shit loads of money that is definitely what I would spend it on, that and Mary Katrantzou.

What a coincidence! I, too, have an “If only I had a shitload of money” wardrobe! Haha, it includes Erdem, Mary Katrantzou and Rick Owens along with many others. For now, I go to Holt’s and fondle as well as dream and yes, they are absolutely worth the money: they are works of art.
