Last night I went to the Rankin Live gallery opening… well, it was an exhibition to showcase the legendary photographers work over the years while he casts New Yorkers to photograph for his Rankin Live Project. If you’re in town June 1-5 and over 16, send a photo of yourself and explain why you want Rankin to take your photo…word on the street is they’re still casting!
Anywho, rather than just show you random event photos of people you probably don’t know at event you may or may not care about, I’ve decide to let you in on a little secret. Well, maybe not a huge secret… but as much as I love having brown hair, I secretly wish I could be a blonde. Crazy huh? Even though one of the many reasons why 30 Rock is so great, Tina Fey often sneaks in jokes about how blondes have the upper hand over brunettes. Even though no one has the upper hand over Tina! Before I digress more, last night I saw a few striking blondes that in a way I covet their style. From short and sleek to the bad ass gothic blondes. One has to wonder if the blondes really do have more fun.

I feel the same way!!!! although I’ve played around with red tones, blonde highlights, and even gone dark jet black, I’m naturally a brunette..and although I know this shade looks good on me, Im currently a chocolate brown girl who day-dreams about going platinum blonde! Unsure whether I will take the plunge one day…I’m always terribly tempted when I see girls like the one in the last picture xxx

Omg, I’ve tried it… it’s terrible on me… well the particular blonde I had… I keep thinking maybe my skintone will change, until then it’s always going to be brunette for me. So much for experimenting!
Thanks for your honest confession, Jennine! You can go blonde, you know! I prefer being brunette because I feel people take you more seriously and treat you with more respect. I know an actress who had to go blonde for a part and when I asked her if she got more attention, she said as a blonde there WAS more attention from men, BUT “quantity went up and quality went down.”
