Classic White Skirt

by jennine on June 8, 2011

jil sander skirt

There are some pieces one must have in their wardrobe that never really go out of style… or if they wain from the hottest trends it won’t be long before they come back. The last few years mini or maxi skirts have  dominated, yet I’m one person who is really glad to have the midi back. One of my favorite thrift store finds, was this Jil Sander white skirt for about… I can’t remember, $25? It has been the classic go to piece for when I want to look snazzy for years. This summer, I’m feeling this is the perfect piece to wear in New York as it’s classic and sharp and pretty much goes with anything. Especially other things I’ve owned forever like this 1940′s vintage blouse. One of these days I’m going to have someone remake this, as it’s the perfect blouse for my figure. So if you know anyone… do let me know!

Today, I’m getting ready to do our third installment of IFB Chat with my attorney Quinn Heraty… so I gotta look sharp for you all!

Love the midi. It is the best length for my legs and I don’t care what the trends are, I stick to my midi! The combination you’re wearing today is beautiful. The colour of the blouse is stunning. Works so well with the white skirt.

You know, I’m learning that a lot of women stick to certain skirt lengths not matter the trends. I go back and forth with it, but more and more I’m rembering why I love the midi!

Your Prada baroque shades and shoes go amazingly well with this outfit; it looks polished and modern at the same time. Love!

Oh yeah, the outfit is old, I’ve worn it several times over the years, but the shoes and bag really update it. Maybe it’s time to get into more outfits that work like that!

Oh my, those SHOES! I’ve been eyeing those since I saw pictures of them on the runway.. They sort of remind me of those old Chinese Handcuffs kids played with in the 80s.

Super cute skirt and even cuter shoes!

Yanique June 11, 2011 at 5:41 pm

I do like the distinction that classics should be worn regardless of trends. Thats what great style is. Love the pairing of the fun prada pumps. Vintage always works best when paired with modern pieces to look relevant to today.
