This week IFB launched the IFB Project, asking members to post about something from the family. I’ve posted before about heirlooms from my grandmothers so to mix things up, I’ve decided to post about something from my other family, my husband’s family. My mother in law had a Burberry blouse in the classic Nova Check pattern that somehow made it to Rocky’s closet. Now I’m not much for wearing blatant designer stuff, but love this blouse. The cotton is sturdier than any other cotton shirt I have in my closet and the classic pattern makes it timeless with any outfit.
Matchy Matchy
Last week, someone asked the question if women matched their bags with their shoes. As the ladies in the room balked saying it matching was a thing of the past, I felt a pang in my heart. Now, I haven’t matched my bags with my shoes in ages, but thought to give it a whirl, just for old time’s sake. What’s wrong with matching? Mixing it up is fun, but matching should be part of the mix. Here matches H&M Hasbeens sandals with Paul&Joe Sister handbag, lipstick and pedicure. I have to say, it felt good. Especially with the red in the Nova Check, and the high waisted jeans to give a vintage appeal.

. This outfit is gorgeous, I love how the (matching!) shoes and bag make the shirt stripes pop. It may be very obviously a Burberry check, but the look is really a classic.

I love this blouse! Usually Burberry check looks hideous to me, but I think it’s the loose, unstructured shape of the blouse that makes this one look so nice.

That Burberry shirt is divine. I didn’t know till now that classic pattern was called Nova Check. I like to match my accessories, too, especially my belt and bag.
