In my youth, I experimented heavily with hair color. I tried just about everything, but finally settling on my natural color of brown. Lately though the hair color bug has bitten and I’ve gotten a terrible itch to change. Just working out the change to what has proven an interesting search. Yesterday I went to get my hair cut an colored at Pimps & Pinups in the Lower East Side. I asked to go lighter and my stylist Rochelle, suggested I go for a more caramel color. I don’t know what that means, but I think this is an interesting step towards trying something new. I certainly love my hair cut, done by Mark, who did short bangs and a long bob, it’s sort of the style I always go back to, maybe it should just be the permanent style? Anyway… the jury is still out on the color, it’s grown on me, but I’m still not sure if I’m cut out to go lighter with the locks.
Mini bags are so great. This crossover mini bag from Coach is perfect for running around the city. It carries everything-wallet, phone, keys, lipstick-and weighs practically nothing. I can’t imagine going back to big bags, unless it’s time to schlep major things for a purpose. But not for everyday. Really, I don’t actually need that much stuff, so why was I carrying all that junk all those years for?

Change is good
When I was unemployed in the fall I only carried a small handbag but the moment I went back to commuting and in a big office I brought out the big bags again. My shoulders much prefer something smaller but it’s so hard for me to convert fully to a tiny bag. Maybe I need a cute one in green

It looks really, really nice with your complexion. There is something so summery about a lighter shade of hair anyway-even if you go back to darker it will have been fun to try! 
I dyed my hair red during the winter, and have been toying with the idea of going back (I used henna, so it just faded gradually back to my natural color)… So tempting! hehe.

The new cut looks fresh on you. I bet it would look really cute straightened with a flat iron (great for fall). I don’t think the color change is too noticeable for it to be worth the effort or money. I really like rich caramel highlights on brunettes; they really add a beautiful dimension. I love the idea of experimenting with my hair. Always want to try new things, but then there’s the fear of “what if it looks horrible?” Then you have to shell out more money to fix it. =)

I love the new color/cut! It’s so cute! I used to experiment with color a lot. I went platinum blonde too many times, and finally decided to settle on black as it’s closer to my natural color of very dark brown (to stop over-processing my hair). But when I see lighter locks, I get a little jealous, it’s so summery looking!

I think you and I have similar shaped faces, since bangs with a longer or short bob suits me best. However, I always start attempts to outgrow my bangs, because I often feel bangs are part of my teenage years. When they’re all outgrown, all girlfriends ask me why I don’t cut bangs again. The guys on the other hand and my mother (!) tend to compliment me on the hairstyle without the bangs. Hairstyles….sigh…
