Last week, I lamented over the lagging Mad Men season five… It must be a bigger vacuum in the collective conscious than imagined, as Banana Republic has come out with their new Mad Men collection without, everyone’s watching reruns on NetFlix, and well, I’m starting to see patterns on the streets. Here are two lovely ladies wearing 60′s day dresses, or help me vintage fanatics, what specifically are these dresses?
Anyway, it’s a sweet dress to wear for these days when the summer heat has broken into vacation worthy soft warm breeze. I’ve always loved this style of vintage dresses, but felt that they were in a sense too costumey, but seeing women wear them around in a way that’s fresh and in a sense effortless, it brings new life to a classic style. I love this silhouette. In fact I have a Prada dress from last fall that’s exactly this shape. I suppose no surprise that Miuccia saw this coming. I’d buy vintage versions too, except I have zero thrift shop skills.

I especially love the first dress, the print and the colour are lovely. This style of dresses is so easy to wear, so effortless, and so summery. Gosh I wish Mad Men would hurry up with the new series and get back on our screens, I miss Peggy and the rest of the characters!
