Winter Boots: Aldo x Christian Cota

aldo x christian cota

This is the first week in New York I have pulled out my sweaters and wool scarves for the fall season. It’s cold with a tinge of warm, but lord knows in a few months it’ll be FREEZING. Last year I bought a cute pair of lace up booties from Aldo which lasted me all winter long. So naturally when invited to the Aldo x Cristian Cota event to preview the new collection, it was a no-brainer to go. Aldo Rise has been around for a few seasons, they work with emerging designers to create shoes to go with their clothing collections for the runway. Christian Cota’s boots debuted last night and I have to say they were fun. Red pony hair with buckles and faux shearling lining? Warm! And not your ordinary black boot.

I have bought a pair of Aldo ankle boots 4 years ago and I absolutely adore them (I have a post in the making to express just how much I love them!). I could describe them as black ankle boots only but that would not give enough credit to the eclectic scandinavian inspired platform brown heel or to the bow detail (see in Mulberry last season 0 or the comfort of those 12cm heels.
I didn’t buy anything from Aldo since as I struggled to find something that would be as great. Now I glad to see that next collection has exciting promises (I love biker boots!) and can’t wait to go and check it in-store.

Yep, it’s time to think about winter boots. I decided to get a pair of Sorel Tofinos in red after much hemming and hawing. This is Canada so has to be waterproof.

Oh I just love the red boots. It’s fab to have a colour option that works with most outfits and isn’t black or brown! I lived in grey buckled ankle boots last winter. I think I’ll look out for red this year,

Interesting boots. They do look warm.
May I ask why you didn’t crop the photo in order to hide the enormous run in that woman’s tights? How embarrassing for her!

i think the boots are boring and disappointing

A lady once kicked me with this kind of boots by mistake…. maaaan it was painful. Ladies try getting softer boots next time please.
