I am a beauty junky. When it comes to beauty products my personal poison revolves around skin care, potions, serums, peels, cremes, masques, if it’s out there, I want to try it. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with firming products. Not that my skin is sagging, but it’s not as taut as it used to be, therefore it’s become the object of my neurotic obsession. That and trying to get the perfect smoky eye.
The thing about firming products is that they don’t make drastic changes, the way they work is more subtle. You’ll notice a bit more plumpness in the skin’s texture, or you won’t wake up with as puffy a face. That’s the kind of difference you’ll notice. I have only been using them for about a year, so I can say the velocity of my neurosis has slowed down since I started using them. There are a lot of products that don’t really make a difference, but these three have become my favorites, and have become a part of my regular skin care routine.
3 Facial Firming Products
StriVectin-SD Eye Concentrate for Wrinkles: Strivectin-SD is a product originally invented to help with stretchmarks. They have a lot of firming products for neck and, for other areas. Last year I had tried just about every product on the market to help reduce the puffiness, and either I came to accept my puffy eyes, or this product helped. I pretty much use this exclusively over the past year. The price may seem high at $69, but you really only need to apply the size of a grain of rice twice a day. It’s lasted 6 months for each tube, so I would day it’s a good deal.
Clarins Double Serum Generation 6: Clarins has become my go-to brand for skincare lately. I have been a fan of their day creams and night creams, so when I ran out of my last serum, I decided to give this one a whirl. Clarins uses plant extracts for their product, and Generation 6 uses anti-aging plant extracts Marula, London Rocket and Centella Asiatica. I don’t know what any of those do, but using three pumps a day added a plumpness to my skin. I would have to say that I would probably try something else when this runs out, but I would recommend it.
Algenist Firming & Lifting Intensive Mask: Every Sunday night I like to do a special beauty routine, exfoliate and wear a masque, this has been in my rotation for about a year, and I really like it. Algenist uses alguronic acid and ProPeptide3 in their products. It’s marketed as a science based product, and generally, I’ve been satisfied with their anti-aging lines. This gel masque is great to put on, and it won’t scare the other people in the house since it’s a clear masque. There is a notable difference in the morning, but I would have to say you would have to use 2-3 times a week (like it instructs) but I honestly don’t have the time to do all of that, but it works well.
