Even though I am a Navy brat, I’ve only been sailing once in my life. One spring break, I visited my friend in Rome, who took me sailing in Tuscany. Sounds amazing doesn’t it? Well, as soon as we left the harbor, for six hours straight I vomited. Six hours.
Since then, I may ride the ferry across the San Francisco bay, or the Ikea ferry in New York. But that’s about it. What that doesn’t mean however, is that I do indulge in the breton stripe on a fairly regular basis. I have two sweaters and four tops, so basically, I can wear it almost every day of the week. Take that, Where’s Waldo!
Anyway, this particular top is by San Francisco-based eco-label Amour Vert, whom I had the pleasure of dining with on Earth Day. They spoke of how soft their tee-shirts were, admittedly I thought, “Yeah, yeah, that’s what they all say.” But the truth is, upon opening the goodie bag they gave us, the Francoise tee-shirt is certainly one of the softest in my collection of tee-shirts (along the lines of my L’Agence striped tee, which is super soft). It contains spandex so it retains its shape, and for someone like me who has a curvy figure, it really makes a difference.
Here I paired this tee shirt with a Zara denim skirt (here’s a similar denim midi skirt that probably doesn’t wrinkle so much), a J.Crew Rope belt, and Loeffler Randall Neel Espadrille Pump (found one pair on Poshmark), and of course, my trusty Proenza Schouler PS1 and Wildfox Le Femme shades.
So now I’m basically ready to go take a walk on dry land.
