When I was a kid, one of the weird things I liked to do was to put Elmer’s Glue on my fingers, then peel it off. “Look! My skin is peeling off!” I’d say.
Well, it turns out that not much has changed since I’ve “grown up.” Only now, I really put a lot of effort in to making my skin peel off. Not too much, but just enough. I’ve experimented with peel pads, scrubs, my Clarisonic, even acid peels to get to that layer of fresh skin. But my absolute favorite right now? Peter Thomas Roth’s FIRMx Peeling Gel is my go-to exfoliator these days. I received a free sample from my Sephora beauty points (I have a million VIB points because I rarely take their “free gifts”) Anyway, this was the standout product from the sample kit, and once the sample ran out, I bought the full size because it worked so well with my somewhat dry skin.
Made with “multi-action enzymes” (pineapple, pomegranate and keratinaise) and cellulose, the product goes and lifts away your skin. You can actually see the skin come off in the product, don’t worry, the white isn’t ALL skin, but you can tell that the skin has been lifted with the product as it’s slightly grey (I know, gross.. but we ARE talking exfoliation here!) Anyway, I always love rolling my skin off, it’s kind of fun in that first-grade, pretend glue skin kind of way.
As a skin care product junky, I have tried a LOT of exfoliators, but this one I’m really loving. I am particularly insecure about my pores, and it does help to reduce the appearance of those pesky pores. However, I do have to stay on top of my regimen of cleanse/tone/moisturize as well, so it’s definitely not the Holy Grail, but it is a valuable player.
Above is a photo of me with no makeup on and un-touched up (I did use Photoshop to adjust the exposure). I’m working on minimizing the hyper-pigmentation spots, but we’ll see if adding regular exfoliating will help with that.
Which exfoliators do you use?

OMG. I think this is like the newest, hottest beauty product because I just got ORG Skincare and it does the same thing. I’ve been exfoliating my skin and loving the results (super soft skin)..
I even use it on my feet and they haven’t looked better.
