Take Off Your Clothes

by jennine on July 30, 2009

Well, there are days when we all think that… Seriously… I am having one of those days when the very thought of wearing something not-stretchy is, like,  not going to happen. I’m one step away from straight out wearing muumuu. And yes, I realize that it’s a complete swing from yesterday,  so let’s just chalk that up to female nature. Luckily, these days getting your hands on some stylish clothes that are also comfortable aren’t so hard to come by. Take Off Your Clothes on Etsy is just one of those clothing lines. Designed by Ben Reingold, he has been experimenting with clothing reconstruction for over three years. Many of the pieces are reconstructed, like the double tee dress, a combination of two XXL tee shirts or the XL Godet tee, and he also uses zippers to give his pieces multiple styling options, and of course loads of draping.

i bought the grey double-tee dress on a spontaneous whim. it’s quite the lovely dress. just make sure you look at the measurements first. i did not (i think it was the first one posted, so they didn’t have measurements yet and i wasn’t sure it would be regular stock or not), and it’s quite a bit too big (although i’m sure i can put in some lovely shoulder pleats to fix that up). i’m really hoping toyc will use american apparel tees in the future so these both look and feel great.
