Stop the Presses! Let’s Drool Over Maison Martin Margiela’s Resort 2015 Collection

Maybe I drank too much coffee today. I don’t normally like to post three times in one day. But as I was giving a last run through my RSS feed, I knew I had to post right away.

Earlier today I talked about Neu Minimalism, and this if anything expresses exactly just that. The house of Margiela has been going through an awkward stage over the past few years and I’ve not been soooo keen on their collections, except this resort collection really hits the nail on the head as to where I’d like to see my style go. Polished, refined, minimal yet incredibly chic. It’s reeeeeaaaalllly not that often that a RESORT collection gets me going, but this. .

The brand tells of this collection, “Detachable cuts where garments open and close around a free moving body.”

Everything is so wearable, yet comes with a surprise.  Consider me hooked.

Look at this trench with overhanging epaulettes and deep pockets.

Mesh stirrups? Yes. Quilted bomber jacket. That too.

Evening glamor with pants? A tricky trend successfully done here. Look at that gold frame for the neckline.

An elegant twist on the marching band trouser.

Nothing better than a classic and will tailored pant suit with a ribbon belt.

A new twist on their four finger tube ring…beige instead of gold.

I agree this resort is really inspiring. In amongst all the print, texture and logos, it’s very refreshing.
